It's National Photgraphy Day, lots of inspiration to be found at Carter's Steam Fair in Royal Victoria Park Bath this afternoon. This is what the world looked like through the James Griffiths Photgraphy lens today. Also, what a setting this would be for a fun vintage wedding! :)
Making the most of a bright and breezy day to teach my daughter to fly her kite. The Griffiths family are enjoying some much needed down time on the Cornish coast. There are some fantastic wedding venues down here and I am looking forward to capturing more moments in this amazing part of the country :)
Planning for this summer weddings I have been reflecting on some of the highlights from last year. Hopefully 2018 couples will get to enjoy some smashing weather like Lauren and Ryan had last year. Their wedding fell on a beautiful hot and sunny July day, perfect for exploring the Vineyard and playing games on the lawn. It was a family friendly, fun day and the weather allowed everyone to make the most of the Leigh Park Country House Hotel, which is a great venue. Here are some of the sunny highlights.
There have been some exciting changes at James Griffiths Photography HQ this month.
Firstly I've introduced a very cool and high quality presentation product that will be included in all wedding packages.
Introducing my wooden prints box.
These beautifully crafted alder wood boxes will keep your precious memories, in pristine condition, for all your family and friends to see. Also included is a matching wooden USB stick to finish off the look.
Instead of having my super cool logo ;) couples can personalise, for a small additional cost, the front of the box with names, dates or any other words special to them.
In addition I will now be including 75 highlight prints in all packages, this will be for new customers and those who have already secured their date.
Watch this space for highlights from one awesome April wedding.
Had a fantastic, albeit slightly chilly, weekend photographing the lovely Jon and Sara getting married at Clevedon Hall in Somerset. Despite the cold, there was a huge amount of warmth and fun at this celebration. Only a few flakes of snow fell on the big day but that soon changed. Setting off for Cornwall the next day, Jon and Sara had an unexpected start to their honeymoon, finding themselves, due to the heavy snow fall, spending the night in a temporary rescue centre in Devon rather than their lovely hotel in Watergate Bay. Not how they imagined starting married life but it's a good anniversary story! Congratulations guys, hope you're now safe, warm and well and thank you for a great day :) P.S apologies for the terrible pun!
You're famous guys!
Enjoying photographing this stunning wedding location despite the freezing cold snow. Clevedon Hall will always have a warm welcome.
Come and have a look at my little interview with 'The Wedding Community'.
It was Aldwick Court Farm, not Hogwarts, that delivered on the magic for this summer 2017 wedding which included some fantastic handmade touches from Hester, as well as thoughtful details showing their affection towards Harry Potter and, of course, each other. Congratulations to this brilliant couple :)
It was a pleasure to join Anita and George at St James Church in South Wraxall. It wouldn't be August in Britain without a little downpour but who doesn't love a cool umbrella picture or some white wellie boots?!! A midday trip to Anita's grandparents gave the most unique picture to date, a bride and a chicken! The animal theme ran throughout the whole day with some great details on the tables at the reception in Wick Farm. The fun grew as the day went on with some great live music, including a rendition or two from Anita's father. A fantastic day with these lovely people. Congratulations Anita and George :)
Inspired by some of the fantastic weddings I've photographed over the summer, I've been seeking out high quality and unique products that I think my couples are going to love! I am so excited to be offering a range of very cool extras including canvas, mounted prints and float frames. Check out the link to find out more...
It's taken a little while to get this BEAUTIFUL autumn wedding onto the blog but I promise you it will have been worth the wait! Vintage cars, flower girls playing the drums and an autumn inspired cake to reflect the change of season. Claire and James kept it classy at St Peters in Camerton and Priston Mill- which never disappoints. Congratulations guys :)
Couldn't resist putting these beautiful things on a shelf.
So much so I needed two.
Most of the old ones belonged to my late father in law Geoff Davis and I'm sure he would be pleased they are pride of place in my office.
You'll always be over my left shoulder Geoff.
Summer has (sort of) arrived and the wellies, glitter and hats are out for festival season. Lower Hill Farm Campsite Shrewsbury was the setting for, what is now, my favourite festival ever- Wedgefest. Forget Glastonbury, V Festival or Green Man, this event was something unique and not just because of the way better than average toilet facilities! It was a reflection of two fantastic people, Nik and Ali, showcasing their love for their friends, family, the environment, beer, music and lots of very cool lighting! This couple worked so hard to create an amazing experience for everyone and their family and friends were willing volunteers. The Real Junk Food Project in Birmingham provided some fantastic food, raising awareness of the project and turning wedding catering into something really interesting. Congratulations guys on a great event :)

Those who kindly follow and support me on my blog and Facebook page will have noticed that I've been a little quiet recently. This has been due to the very sad loss of my father-in-law, Geoff, who had been living with cancer for some time and unfortunately passed away earlier this year. I choose to take more family time and focus on providing a good service to my lovely couples, leaving the online presence quieter that usual. I am very much still in action behind the lens and I am really excited we are now in July, my busiest month, as I have some incredible weddings ahead. I've just kicked it off with the most amazing festival wedding- I'm going to post about it later and trust me you will love it!
I shall be sharing more fantastic weddings with you over the summer. Geoff was a keen photographer too and so, as a family, we dedicate this work to him.
Congratulations to Lynsey and Paul on their late summer celebration. This great couple really thought of everything and even surprised me with a personal gift. Thank you both, it was a pleasure :)
Stacey and Rob chose a fantastic, historic setting for their special day. The venues read like a fairy tale...guests attended Old Wardour Castle and then sought refreshment at the Rainbow on the Lake. Great story, great couple...congratulations both :)
Helen and Ben made an entrance to the Farrington Park Golf Club in some very cool classic American cars. Helen's sunflower bouquet added to this bright September day. Congratulations to this fun couple :)
My daughter and her friends once again raided the dressing up box for their annual Halloween party. There were more awwwwws than Arghhhhhs! but it is scary how cute these little spooks are...thanks to our host Abi, mum to Isla, who is in the devil horns :)
