Take an awesome couple, gather all their favourite people, find a special venue, add a stylish marquee, throw in some sweets, outdoor games and some seriously cool transport. The result? Some very happy campers ;) Jade and Lee took all the ingredients for a fantastic May wedding and tied them up with deep blue ribbons. Congratulations guys, thanks for an amazing day :)
As well as wedding season, James Griffiths Photography is heading into party season - birthday party season as our daughter and all her friends turn 4- where did that time go?! One of the many highlights of her birthday this year was this awesome birthday cake made by Aunt Sally’s Cakes. Our daughter was absolutely over the moon (well, rainbow) with it. It was a 4 year old’s rainbow sparkled, unicorn dream! Tasted pretty good too :) Sally, of Aunt Sally’s Cakes, did an incredible job. As well as some amazing novelty cakes Sally does make wedding cakes, especially things that are unique and a little alternative so do check her out-
This February 14th has got me thinking. It can never be a bad thing to spoil your partner or spend some quality time together and Valentines Day is the perfect excuse! I do love a bit of romance- which is a good thing as I go to a lot of weddings. Sometimes though it can be the most everyday, mundane things that show the love between people. That’s what I love about my job - capturing these ordinary, natural moments. Like when the day becomes the night, heels become trainers, ties become headbands and family members become dancers.
It doesn’t also have to be a grand gesture or an amazing gift. Sometimes it’s just letting loose on the dance floor with your favourite person.
So come on- what’s you and your partners special song?
That said, best not take risks…. see you in the card aisle ;)
Congratulations Jessica & Stuart!
The weather is behaving itself for your Autumn wedding down at Homeward Park
More photos coming soon…….
What nicer way to see in the change of season then photographing Holly and Justin’s fantastic October wedding. The colours were a celebration of autumn and made for a truly vibrant day. After their service at Yatton Methodist Church, Holly and Justin choose Aldwick Court Farm to continue their celebrations- a regular venue for me and one of my favourites. The evening was a very cool barn dance style celebration, a throw back to Holly’s 18th birthday and therefore personal to them and very popular with the guests! The whole day was filled with brilliant personalised touches, including a flock of tiny (plastic) ducks ;) Congratulations to this lovely couple. Here are you’re highlights :)

Before embracing all the amazing colours and vibes that Autumn brings I thought I would indulge in one more throw back to summer. Lauren and Owen were a couple I had the privilege to work with in July 2017 but I haven’t yet shown off this beautiful wedding on the site- so here it is :) I’ve had an opportunity to revisit this day myself recently when putting together a fabulous album for these guys. This was a fantastic day at Clevedon Hall which was rounded off with a huge burst of beautiful confetti above the guests on the evening- very cool to photograph. Thanks again Lauren and Owen, it was an absolute pleasure :)
Rain showers were no match for Holly and Justin’s vibrant Autumn colours or the little yellow ducks hiding in amongst their very happy guests. A quaking (sorry) time was had by all at this fantastic October wedding in Yatton. Here’s a little preview to keep the warmth going into the chillier evenings…

Fantastic service at Yatton Methodist Church with food and drink to follow at Aldwick Court Farm.
Love this idea with the fingerprint leaves! Nice touch.
Apparently it's lucky to have rain on your wedding day. Don't worry Holly and Justin I've got plenty of umbrellas.
It's National Photgraphy Day, lots of inspiration to be found at Carter's Steam Fair in Royal Victoria Park Bath this afternoon. This is what the world looked like through the James Griffiths Photgraphy lens today. Also, what a setting this would be for a fun vintage wedding! :)
Making the most of a bright and breezy day to teach my daughter to fly her kite. The Griffiths family are enjoying some much needed down time on the Cornish coast. There are some fantastic wedding venues down here and I am looking forward to capturing more moments in this amazing part of the country :)
Planning for this summer weddings I have been reflecting on some of the highlights from last year. Hopefully 2018 couples will get to enjoy some smashing weather like Lauren and Ryan had last year. Their wedding fell on a beautiful hot and sunny July day, perfect for exploring the Vineyard and playing games on the lawn. It was a family friendly, fun day and the weather allowed everyone to make the most of the Leigh Park Country House Hotel, which is a great venue. Here are some of the sunny highlights.
There have been some exciting changes at James Griffiths Photography HQ this month.
Firstly I've introduced a very cool and high quality presentation product that will be included in all wedding packages.
Introducing my wooden prints box.
These beautifully crafted alder wood boxes will keep your precious memories, in pristine condition, for all your family and friends to see. Also included is a matching wooden USB stick to finish off the look.
Instead of having my super cool logo ;) couples can personalise, for a small additional cost, the front of the box with names, dates or any other words special to them.
In addition I will now be including 75 highlight prints in all packages, this will be for new customers and those who have already secured their date.
Watch this space for highlights from one awesome April wedding.
Had a fantastic, albeit slightly chilly, weekend photographing the lovely Jon and Sara getting married at Clevedon Hall in Somerset. Despite the cold, there was a huge amount of warmth and fun at this celebration. Only a few flakes of snow fell on the big day but that soon changed. Setting off for Cornwall the next day, Jon and Sara had an unexpected start to their honeymoon, finding themselves, due to the heavy snow fall, spending the night in a temporary rescue centre in Devon rather than their lovely hotel in Watergate Bay. Not how they imagined starting married life but it's a good anniversary story! Congratulations guys, hope you're now safe, warm and well and thank you for a great day :) P.S apologies for the terrible pun!
You're famous guys!
Enjoying photographing this stunning wedding location despite the freezing cold snow. Clevedon Hall will always have a warm welcome.
Come and have a look at my little interview with 'The Wedding Community'.
It was Aldwick Court Farm, not Hogwarts, that delivered on the magic for this summer 2017 wedding which included some fantastic handmade touches from Hester, as well as thoughtful details showing their affection towards Harry Potter and, of course, each other. Congratulations to this brilliant couple :)
It was a pleasure to join Anita and George at St James Church in South Wraxall. It wouldn't be August in Britain without a little downpour but who doesn't love a cool umbrella picture or some white wellie boots?!! A midday trip to Anita's grandparents gave the most unique picture to date, a bride and a chicken! The animal theme ran throughout the whole day with some great details on the tables at the reception in Wick Farm. The fun grew as the day went on with some great live music, including a rendition or two from Anita's father. A fantastic day with these lovely people. Congratulations Anita and George :)
Inspired by some of the fantastic weddings I've photographed over the summer, I've been seeking out high quality and unique products that I think my couples are going to love! I am so excited to be offering a range of very cool extras including canvas, mounted prints and float frames. Check out the link to find out more...
